The early church.
The early church, as described in the New Testament, was a vibrant community of believers who were united in their faith in Jesus Christ. After His resurrection and ascension, the disciples, empowered by the Holy Spirit, began to spread the gospel. The early church focused on the teachings of the apostles, prayer, fellowship, and breaking of bread. Acts 2:42. It was marked by a deep sense of community, where believers shared their resources and supported one another. Acts 4:32-35.
Despite facing persecution and challenges, the early church grew rapidly as believers boldly proclaimed the message of Christ's salvation. The apostles and early Christians were committed to living out the love of Christ, making disciples, and establishing churches across regions. The early church laid the foundation for Christian doctrine, worship practices, and the spread of the gospel worldwide, showing us the power of unity, faith, and dedication to God's mission.
PRAYERS FOR THE CHURCH.
· Pray for the fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church. Igniting the hearts with a passion for Him and for lost souls. Bringing revival to our communities and nations. Acts 1:8
· Pray for divine protection over the church, both spiritually and physically. Keeping them safe from harm, from false teachings, and from division. Guarding their hearts and minds to Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
· Pray that the Lord will empower them with boldness to share the gospel with those around them. May they be light to the world, reaching the lost and making disciples in every nation. Matthew 5:14-16
· Pray that each member of the church will continue to grow in their relationship with God. To be rooted and grounded in His word. 2 Peter 3:18
· Pray for unity amongst the churches, that they may be in one purpose, love and missions. Acts 2:44-46
· Pray against the influx of strange teachings and wrong doctrine that sways men from the Truth. Galatians 1:6-8
